The Center for Excellence in EPC (EPC-EC) was born in 2008, as part of one of the initiatives of PROMINP (Mobilization Program of the National Oil and Natural Gas) in order to become a promoter of competitiveness in the industry associated with production chain of Oil and Gas The term comes from the English EPC Engineering (Engineering), Procurement (Supply) and Construction (Construction) and design firm serving the oil and gas operators providing services or materials in the areas of Engineering, Procurement and Construction. Companies operating in the EPC market are commonly called "EPCistas." In structuring the original CE-EPC with the participation of Antonio Muller (Three-Dimensional Engineering), Gerson Ricardo (ODEBRETCH), Sergio Cunha (Maua Shipyard) and Jose Octavio (PROMON) representing the companies' EPCistas ", while Laertes Gallardo (Petrobrás ), Andre Leite (Statoil), John Mariano (Shell) and Carlos Aguiar (PPI) represented the industry operates. Consolidated Carriers and the junction between "EPCistas" still lacked an element to achieve the purpose and objectives of the Center. A key part of sustainability that would participate in this model: Universities and Education Centers. Conceived following the concepts and principles used in models of Centres of Excellence known as "Triple Helix", which is paramount that there is synergy between the entities that form a tripod-based collaboration and complementation of each of the parties, the EC -EPC.
The aim of the EC-EPC is to aggregate and enhance the efforts made by companies EPCistas and improve their competitiveness. To this end, the Center of Excellence serves as a catalyst for developing actions aimed at increasing the productivity of Brazilian industry chain EPC and, consequently, increasing their participation in investment projects of Oil and Gas Operators in Brazil and abroad in competitive and sustainable basis. It is the center governing the development of actions among operators, and EPCistas University / Learning Centres to identify barriers, researching appropriate solutions for the development of alternative productive and innovative in human resource training, the application of best technology and the promotion of better practices. Maintaining a strong association is a result of participation in line operators, enterprise supply chain EPC, universities, institutions of class and the associated institutional and represents a major challenge in its conduct and the most important element in its growth. |
